1. What is your passion or purpose you are being called to bring into action right now?
I have several passions right now. I am preparing to lead a journey to Peru for women. The intention of the journey is being a sacred Midwife to our personal dreams and for the dreams of the co-creation of this next 26,000 year cycle on the Mayan Calendar. Bringing the feminine into her truth and wholeness, eradicating the lies around her, being called “home” to mother and dreaming what duality can look like from the heart and love versus the mind. Stepping out of fear and opening to the new.
Creating Uniquely You, A Woman’s guide to finding her Personal Truth and the Courage to Live it. I am writing a book and creating workshops and on-going classes with a community of women supporting each others dreams and visions.
Producing two Mayan Films. Mayan Renaissance is the story of the Mayan and of Rigoberta Menchu Tum, the Nobel Peace Laureate from Guatemala. It is about colonization by the Spanish and then the genocide targeted at the Mayan for over 30 years. Rigoberta’s courage and the stand she is taking as she ran for President of Guatemala. This film is also about bringing back the dignity and respect to the Indigenous, to the Maya. The film is being used as an educational tool for 600 Indigenous Youth Leaders from around the world. They will take back what they learn to their communities to start planting the new seeds of consciousness.
The other Mayan film is called Unification of Wisdom and is also the story of the Mayan people and is about Tata Pedro. He is bringing the wisdom of the Mayan and the Mayan Calendar out for all to hear and receive. The unification is about bringing all wisdom together into wholeness and out of separation.
2. What were the motivating factors or defining moments that inspired you to get involved and share your passion?
Bringing forth truth and the voices that have been suppressed, repressed and silenced whether it is with the feminine with women or Indigenous. I am committed to the people that have been silenced and giving them their voice to be heard now.
3. What is your mantra or favorite quote you refer to when you seek inspiration or hope and why?
“The difficult I can do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer”. I brought that quote into my math class when I was in the 7th grade. The teacher had me make a big banner and it was hung up the entire year. I love this quote because it is what I have based my life on… there is no such thing as the impossible. It does not exist.
4. Tell us about a moment recently when you were standing in your full power and purpose?
At the time I am now writing this it was a few weeks ago on June 20th, summer solstice. I had lead a women’s journey to Guatemala over winter solstice and the trip had been based on the 20 sun signs in the Tzolkin or sacred Mayan calendar. After our journey I felt a deep calling to honor each of the subsequent equinoxes and solstices leading up to winter solstice December 21 2012. I co-lead a Summer Solstice ceremony with a woman who had been on the journey to Guatemala with me. We invited over 30 people to participate in bringing forth a traditional Mayan Fire Ceremony! I opened the ceremony and I felt so connected to the Maya, to our ancestors and to each person present as well as friends in Rio at the Earth Summit and other loved ones in ceremonies around the world. I love connecting the seen and unseen realms.
5. Why is the work you are doing so important for everyday women?
The Uniquely You came from my own story and leaving a life that looked amazing but was dead. Finding my personal truth and having the courage to walk away from all that was not real to start over; listening to my heart and my passions and needing to be “me” all of me. I believe this is a calling for all of us… getting off the treadmill of a robotic life that others have designed for us; hearing the wake up call and walking the Hero’s Journey, moving from victim to victorious!
6. Why is it so important for women to participate in an event like the Passion into Action Conference?
It focuses on what is important. We can get so caught up in day to day living we sometimes forget the larger vision. This conference is designed to put women into their hearts, their passions and give them tools and inspiring stories and workshops to see what truly is possible for each one of us.
7. What are you hoping will be the biggest take-aways for women both at the Passion into Action Conference and your workshop?
The importance of sisterhood, of girlfriends of the feminine coming together at the higher turn of the spiral to collaborate, hold sacred space and witness and help us fulfill our deepest and dearest dreams and live our most authentic life.
8. What is your message to women around the world?
Bring your dream into the world now, one baby step at a time and have fun and be in a state of curiosity and joy while doing so!
